|
I'm going to college in Utah. I like to meet new people and try new things. I'll try almost anything once. I'm pretty outgoing and very confident. Oh and I talk way too much for my own good.

Beautiful People (yes i really feel this way) Why is it wrong to judge others based on their looks?? Everyone does it whether they admit it or not. One's appearance is the entire basis for their very first impression. I believe it's only wrong if you won't be friends with the ugly people just because their ugly, or better yet, the pretty people just because they're pretty. I had this discussion with my roommate and she tried to tell me that she doesn't judge people based on their appearance so I painted her a picture: a girl walks into your class with bleached blonde hair, accrylic nails, and is wearing a lot of makeup. She's dressed in a shorter skirt and heels. Do you mean to tell me that you don't automatically deduct I.Q. points? She had to admit that she would. Now this girl could be the smartest one in her class but because of her appearance and nothing but her appearance, my roommate had already passed judgement on her. To me, I believe we should judge others based on their looks because they are often easier to fix than other flaws. I mean how much easier is it to have hygene than to become learned? Developing a personality is definately more difficult than putting on mascara. If you have a flaw in your appearance, it's much easier to fix than character flaws. Besides, those who judge another by their appearance wish to change only that, their appearance, whereas those who judge another by their personality wish to change much more. They are wanting to change them, who they are as a person. Who is the one who should really be looked down upon: the appraiser of appearance or the critic of character?
